Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical procedure, which has been, revaluated in the West during the last decades. Acupuncture is applied to improve dysfunctional ovulation.

The treatment will increases blood flow in the pelvis and does also provide an adequate pain relief during oocyte recovery. IVF Öresund is one of few clinics offering Electro-Acupuncture as part of the treatment. The midwifes at IVF Öresund are trained to perform acupuncture during the monitoring period and as pain relief at oocyte recovery. In some studies it has been indicated that acupunture might be of benefit when applied in conection with embryo transfer. Electro-Acupuncture is offered as an option duning the treatment.
